  • International Restaurant and Foodservice Show 2013

Posted by on March 7th, 2013 at 3:31 am
Overview The unsung heroes of New York are (along with police and firefighters) the restaurant owners! They, along with food service, summer camp, nursing home, and other “institutional” buyers swarm to this show every year, hungry for new ideas. “Top Chef” on Bravo has taught us all about the difference between the front of the house, the back of the house, and in-the-kitchen drama. So, every year we look forward to grazing the aisles with fellow foodies and related businesses. This ye...

  • Bright and Timeless Events

Posted by on October 25th, 2012 at 3:22 pm
Photo booths are like theONswitch itself, bright and timeless. At first glance (or first flash) they may seem narcissistic…but the reality is that photo booths create a great opportunity for event attendees to bond, share, and enjoy. They combine the best of old-fashioned photography with the miracles of next-gen technology. Some of the exhibitors sent us our photos via email, or shared them on Facebook via iPads. Those were our faves! We also loved the two FlipBook companies, who inst...

BizBash IdeaFest 2012 is one of our favorite shows! Why? Because it’s an event that’s all about events! And why do we love events? Because they combine some of our favorite things… Human connection. We hope that never goes out of style! Creativity and entertainment.  People remember experiences, not stuff. The event industry is all about creating memorable, entertaining, awe-inspiring, delicious, delightful, and sometimes educational experiences for guests. Versatility. From corpo...

  • Food Marketing Scores A Goal!

Posted by on June 22nd, 2012 at 4:17 pm
Food marketing has come a long way! Two exhibits stood out from the crowd and drove straight to the heart of our Best of Show category. The first booth was larger than life - a full-size RV that Delverde Pasta (http://www.delverde.eu/) takes on the road so they can eat and showcase their pasta wherever they like. Not only was the bus impressive, but they were showing a live Italian soccer game from the EuroCup 2012. Needless to say, the crowd of Italian men (and other soccer fans) grabbed our a...

  • Catching Your Eye, and Your Stomach’s Attention

Posted by on March 22nd, 2012 at 9:11 pm
Betzios pizza company (http://www.betzios.com/) made sure that nobody was walking the trade show floor on an empty stomach! The pizza was quick, easy-to-make and above all, delicious. Every time they pulled a new pizza out of the oven, a line of happy campers would materialize. And because their booth was so large and crowded, everybody remembered their brand!     “YES” is the key word at this eye-catching display. This booth by Kevin's Promotional Products (http://www...

  • MXR is a Mixer…and Their Team Knows How to Mix AND Mingle!

Posted by on March 13th, 2012 at 10:42 pm
Simple, straightforward, tasty and well-run!  This product is part of the Dr. Pepper/Snapple group and the folks at this booth were greeting, pouring, and sampling up a storm.  http://www.mxressentials.com/ We also sampled a million different octopii (slight exaggeration) but absolutely adored the taste and servers at Octopus Garden.  It's tough to make this sea creature look attractive, but this team did it! ...

  • Comic-Con – Best of Show

Posted by on October 18th, 2010 at 2:33 pm
We dedicate this section to the creative masterminds who went above and beyond the traditional comic book. These are the booths that made us stop in our tracks and take notice. The Art of Brick was a site to see. A large-scale sculpture was built just using toy building blocks. Bricks are definitely the new clay.     Origami Comics: Ken Wong of Comics Art Rash immediately stopped us in our tracks with his cool and trendy way to package comics. Comic book, can you tell us our fort...
