Showgirls

We love trade shows.  We love fancy things.  We love food.  So…what could possibly be better than a trade show about fancy food?

We have selected the 56th Annual Summer Fancy Food Show as the first event to cover in the debut edition of Show Girl Talk.

Peruse, ponder, chuckle, comment*, and maybe even salivate a bit!

*If you exhibited, this is a cool way to get your brand name “out there” via the web, too!

Best of Show

In the delicious, dizzying array of food, here is what made us stop in our tracks and take notice. Not always because of “bells and whistles,” we appreciate cleverness and things that make you go “oooh!” To that end:

  • Dress the part: Exhibitors in “costume” or uniform are easy to spot. Don’t just brand your booth…brand yourself. Falafel Republic had a memorable name, eye-catching packaging and committed owners “living the brand” with tailored logo shirts and smart product “patter.”
  • Cocktail Power Hour — The Modern Cocktail makes pre-packaged cocktail mix. Yummy, but kudos really to suave young staff of savvy, smartly-attired boothspeople.

  • For the 20th year, City Harvest, a leading anti-hunger organization, collected donations of remaining items from the Fancy Food Show exhibitors. This year’s donation of almost 204,100 pounds is enough to fill five tractor trailers. To learn more about City Harvest visit www.cityharvest.org.
  • Mercer’s Dairy: Because the world needs wine-flavored ice cream. Enough said!
